Krugersdrop Sterkfontein crash leaves four people injured

Four people were injured after a motor vehicle overturned on the Sterkfontein Road in Sterkfontein, Krugersdorp this afternoon.

Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that a vehicle with four occupants had overturned and came to a standstill on its roof on the grass area next to the roadway.

Upon assessment of the occupants they found that two children were ejected from the vehicle during the rollover. A sixteen-year-old boy were found to be in a critical condition and he was airlifted to hospital for the urgent medical care that he required by a medical helicopter.

A thirty-seven-year-old woman was also found to have sustained critical injuries and the Netcare1 helicopter was activated to airlift her to hospital for urgent medical care. A forty-two-year-old man also sustained critical injuries during the rollover accident and after receiving treatment at the scene, he was rushed to hospital. A ten-year-old boy was found to have sustained moderate injuries and after receiving treatment at the scene, he was also transported to hospital for further medical care.

Exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events are still unclear and will remain the subject of a police investigation.
