Crisis Medical Paramedics responded to a call of a motor vehicle collision on the M4 South Bound just after the Umgeni River.
On arrival they found two light motor vehicles had collided leaving the driver of the vehicle in picture in a moderate but stable condition.
The driver, a male in his late thirties, sustained various soft tissue injuries and was treated on scene before being carefully placed on a specialized stretcher for suspected neck and or spinal injuries and transported by ambulance to a near by hospital for further examination and care.
It is unclear what caused the two vehicles to collide and fortunately the driver and only occupant of the second vehicle did not sustain any injuries.
Traffic was severely affected and the necessary authorities were on scene.
