N2 Umhlanga taxi collision leaves 17 injured

Seventeen people were injured after a taxi and a Toyota condor collided on the N2 north near the Umhlanga off ramp this morning just after 06h00. Exact detail to the cause of the accident is still speculative, however both vehicles were traveling in the same direction when the one slammed into the side of the other.

Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the Toyota had come to rest on the left side of the roadway while the taxi veered into the centre median before coming to rest. After triaging medics found that two people had sustained serious injuries while fifteen others escaped with minor injuries.

Paramedics from various services treated the injured at the scene before transporting them to hospitals in the area for further medical care.
