Crisis Medical Paramedics were alerted to a call of a motor vehicle collision in the early hours of Wednesday morning on Queen Nandi Drive in Newlands.
On arrival they found a single light motor vehicle laying on its roof in the roadway.
On further inspection it was discovered that the vehicle had been abandoned by the driver. Bystanders allege that a man emerged from the wreckage and ran away from scene shortly after the incident.
The South African Police Services were on scene and are investigating the incident further.
