A man in his 20s was killed this morning after he was hit by a car on the N2 highway in Macassar, Western Cape.
ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found a badly damaged light motor vehicle parked 20 metres away from a lifeless body that lay in the middle of the road.
On inspection, paramedics found that the man had already succumbed to his fatal injuries.
The driver of the vehicle fortunately did not sustain any injuries but was visibly shaken.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
