Fourteen people were injured following an accident on Nana Sita Street near Es’kia Mphahlele Drive in Pretoria this morning.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that a minibus and VW Golf were involved in a side impact crash resulting in the minibus overturning and coming to a standstill on its side following the impact with the motor vehicle.
Upon assessment of all the occupants from both vehicles, paramedics found the woman travelling in the VW Golf had sustained serious injuries during the crash and thirteen occupants from the minibus sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious.
All the injured patients were treated at the scene and transported to various hospitals for further medical care.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events leading up to the crash will remain the subject of a police investigation.
Traffic remains severely affected as a result of the accident in the area.
