The N12 approximately twenty to twenty-five kilometres from Potchefstroom towards Johannesburg was almost completely closed off after three vehicle were involved in a crash at around 18h00.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found the entire roadway scattered with accident debris after two motor vehicles collided head-on and a third vehicle then crashed into the primary accident scene.
Upon assessment of the occupants they found that two people sustained serious injuries and four people sustained minor to moderate injuries.
The injured patients were treated at the scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
Traffic was severely affected as a result of the accident.
