Two arrested on fraud, liquor and meat recovered

Aggenys Police are investigating a fraud case after two males from Upington were arrested. Police followed up on information of suspects, allegedly operating under the auspices of a hoax company called National Construction and Roadworks. The suspects allegedly ordered a huge amount of stock(meat and liquor) from a company and payed the order with a fake internet transfer.

On 20 February 2015, The SAPS Crime Intelligence unit followed up on information and arrested Donald Dywili(38) and Duncan Vokonqo(31), minutes after they collected the goods from the supplier in Aggenys. The police seized an undisclosed amount of meat and liquor from their vehicle.

The white Isuzu bakkie utilized for the collections was also confiscated by the police. The police are looking at possibly linking these suspects to other similar fraud transactions they pulled off in surrounding areas a few days prior to their arrest. The police request that anyone with information or anyone that has been a victim of a similar crime should please call Det Constable Tsholofelo Mphafi at 079 305 1917.

The suspects appeared in the Pofadder Magistrates Court, during last week and the case has been remanded for the 4 March 2015 for a formal bail application. The investigation continues.
