Seven people have been injured after a head on collision this morning on Road 1 in Chesterville just after 06:30.
Rescue Care paramedics arrived on the scene to find that the two taxis had collided head on. Six passengers as well as one of the drivers were found lying on the side of the roadway. The one driver had suffered serious injuries and was stabilized on scene by Advanced Life Support paramedics. Once all of the injured had been stabilized on scene they were transported by Rescue Care to a nearby hospital for the further care that they required.
At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however it appears one of the taxis came into the wrong lane and collided with the second taxi. SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
