Six people were seriously injured after a roll-over accident along the Avoca Hills Drive in Avoca this afternoon at around 14h02. A report from the scene is that the vehicle with six occupants veered off the road and plunged down a twenty meter embankment, the wreckage coming to rest on its side on top of another vehicle.
Netcare 911 paramedics and the fire department arrived at the scene and found some of the patients still trapped in the wreckage. While firemen used the Jaws of Life to free the injured medics had to clamber into the vehicle to stabilise them.
After the injured were treated at the scene they transported them to various hospitals for the care that they required.
