International conference on safety at level crossings to focus on pedestrian and cyclists’ safety

The 3 June 2015 ILCAD International Conference will be hosted in Istanbul.

The conference will start with a press conference at 10:00 followed by presentations from various countries (Europe, Turkey, Japan, Kenya …) and close at 17:30. It will be followed by a visit of the Marmaray (railway) tunnel connecting the Asian and European sides of Istanbul: http://www.uic.org/com/uic-e-news/371 ; http://uic.org/com/uic-e-news/372. The conference simultaneously interpreted in Turkish and English will be available to watch via live streaming on internet (link communicated later). You will receive the official programme later on.

All delegates are kindly invited to an informal dinner on 2nd June and on 3rd June after the visit of the Marmaray railway tunnel.

The main topics to be discussed to launch the 7th edition of ILCAD worldwide are: Engineering, Education/Awareness, Enforcement but also human behaviors, inspection, risk assessment, evaluation, cooperation between the railways and the road infrastructure managers, local authorities, the media. The 2015 edition will be focusing on pedestrians and cyclists’ safety.
