Man entrapped, sustains serious injuries on the M5 Rondebosch

A man sustained serious injuries when he lost control of his vehicle on the M5, Rondebosch, between the N2 and Klipfontein Road, earlier today.

ER24 and other services arrived on scene and found the vehicle lying on an armco barrier between the north and south bound lane.

The man, about 35 years of age, was entrapped in the vehicle that was lying on its roof. He was extricated by Metro Rescue and Fire and Rescue Services.

Paramedics assessed the man. He was in a serious condition. He was treated and transported to hospital for further medical care.

The exact cause of the incident is unknown. Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
