A man is fighting for his life after a pedestrian accident along the R61 between Ramsgate and Southbroom on the Natal south coast this evening. It is believed that the man was trying to cross the roadway during the Easter weekend traffic when he landed in front of a vehicle.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man lying on the roadway with life threatening injuries. Paramedics worked fervently to stabilise the man and after he was deftly immobilised on a trauma board and placed on a manual ventilator, they transported the patient to the Port Shepstone hospital under the constant care of an advanced life support paramedic.
