Torre Automotive to Showcase at Automechanika

Torre Automotive, a subsidiary of the JSE-listed Torre Industries, will be at this year’s Automechanika, running from 6-9 May at Nasrec.

The company will be displaying the latest products from its stable of WARN winches, VisionX industrial and mining LED lights, Hi-Lift jacks, Gabriel shock absorbers, Echlin automotive components and Textar brakes.

The VisionX range of mining, military, engineering, industrial, security, agriculture and 4×4 LED lights have been hugely successful in these markets in less than two years since the launch of VisionX in SA.

“VisionX LED lights, a US-brand, are suited to harsh conditions typically found in industrial and mining environments and used in numerous organisations around the world including NASA. The company has built a worldwide reputation for quality and reliability. It has succeeded in winning military and NASA contracts based on its advanced design and extensive product offering which includes the world’s widest LED lighting range,” said Leonard Chester, product manager – Torre Automotive.

The VisionX Prime Drive Thermal Management technology regulates the temperature of the exterior housing of the light resulting in no risk of touch burns.

Mr Chester said LED lights provide a 70% reduction in power consumption over current OE lighting systems. “There is a 26% increase in light output on effective work areas (measured in LUX on the work surface in 12 critical points) and an 80% decrease in light pollution based on stray light lost into the surroundings areas and into oncoming equipment.”

“The LED lights will handle high vibration and shocks and are IP68 waterproof rated, enabling the lights to be submerged in water. The LED lamps also reduce CO2 emissions. Changing to just one single LED bulb can keep half a ton of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere and LEDs are 98% recyclable.”

The lights have reduced amperage to reduce wear on associated components. Vision X manufacturing plants are ISO 9001, QS 9000, ISO 14001, ISO/TS 16949 approved facilities as well as being an ECOPROFIT award winner.

Visit Torre Automotive will be at Hall: 6, stand 6D010, from Wednesday to Saturday, 6 – 9 May, 9am – 5pm daily.
