A collision between two trucks and light motor vehicle this morning on the R54 20km outside of Potchefstroom has left three people injured.
ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found the road blocked by heavy traffic. A large truck lay on its side blocking the entire road, its contents of alcohol spread across the scene. A second truck lay some distance away in the field while the light motor vehicle had stopped on the side of the road.
On assessment, paramedics found that both truck drivers as well as the driver of the light motor vehicle had sustained minor injuries in the collision.
Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to Mediclinic Potchefstroom for further observations.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
