Two injured in N14 collision

Two men were injured this evening in a two vehicle collision on the N14 between Malibongwe and Beyers Naude, Randburg.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene, they found one light motor vehicle lying on the left side of the highway while the second vehicle lay in the middle island. Both vehicles had sustained severe damage.

On assessment, paramedics found one of the drivers lay in his vehicle in a critical condition. The second driver was found walking around on scene with minor injuries.

Paramedics carefully removed the critically injured patient from the vehicle and provided him with advanced life support. Once stable, he was transported to Life Fourways Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

The second patient was treated for his minor injuries and thereafter transported to Yusuf Dadoo Hospital for further observations.

It is understood that the one vehicle rear-ended the other, causing the collision.

Local authorities will investigate the cause of the collision.
