Two killed in separate motorbike collisions

Two people were killed in two separate motorbike collisions this evening.

At approximately 17:00 paramedics from Johannesburg East attended to a motorbike collision on the N12 near the Kraft road exit where a passenger on a motorbike died.

It is believed that the passenger was flung several meters from the bike. They (paramedics) found him with fatal injuries and there was nothing that they could do for him.

The rider of the bike sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

It appears as if the bike collided with the barrier on the side of the highway.

In another collision a motorbike rider, believed to be in his late 30’s, was killed on Northumberland road in Northgate.

At approximately 18:00 paramedics attended to the collision where they found the rider a few meters away from his bike. Sadly he had already succumbed to his injuries.

The motorbike collided with a car leaving two people with moderate injuries. Local rescue units had to remove the left side of the vehicle in order to free the trapped passenger. Both occupants of the vehicle were transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
