2 Taxi accidents leave 6 injured Durban

Two separate taxi accidents this morning in Durban have left six people injured.

Just after 6am Rescue Care paramedics were called to the M4 North bound before Moore Road offramp for two taxis that had collided on the busy highway. Paramedics found that one of the drivers was entrapped in the wreckage. Durban Fire were called to assist in cutting the driver out of the vehicle. A further four passengers were injured, one seriously so. All of the injured were stabilized on scene before being transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.

Then around 06:30am Rescue Care paramedics responded to Umbilo Road and Queen Mary Avenue for a taxi that had collided into the back of a truck. Paramedics found that the front seat passenger had sustained serious injuries and was stabilized by Advanced Life Support Paramedics before being transported to a nearby private facility for further care.

The necessary authorities were on scene at both collisions and will be investigating further.
