Biker seriously injured in Fairlands collision

A man is in a serious condition this morning following a motorcycle collision at the Bayers Naude and Monker Road intersection in Fairlands, Johannesburg.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene and found the biker on the side of the road with his bike lying 50 metres away. A light motor vehicle that the bike had collided with had parked a few metres away.

On assessment of the patient, paramedics found that the patient was in a serious condition, with injuries to his legs and pelvis.

Paramedics treated the patients and provided him with advanced life support interventions before he was immobilised.

Once treated, the patient was transported to Mediclinic Sandton for urgent treatment.

The driver of the light motor vehicle fortunately did not sustain any injuries.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
