Bryanston William Nicol Drive crash leaves one dead and sixteen injured

A man lost his life and sixteen people were injured following an accident on William Nicol Drive in Bryanston this afternoon.

Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that a minibus and four other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Exact detail surrounding the cause of the crash and preceding events are still speculative and will remain the subject of a police investigation. Reports from the scene indicate that a minibus collided with a motor vehicle in the intersection, resulting in the minibus crashing against a traffic light and then proceeded to overturned. The motor vehicle crashed against other vehicles at the intersection.

Upon assessment of all the occupants, paramedics found that a man travelling in the minibus tragically lost his life during the crash. Sixteen other people were found to have sustained various injuries ranging from moderate to serious.

All the injured patients were treated at the scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.

Traffic remains severely obstructed and affected as a result of the accident earlier this afternoon.
