Last night emergency services responded to the M25 in Inanda near the Magistrates court, just after 20h00, where a vehicle had struck the crash barrier and subsequently caught alight.
Paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services and the EThekwini Fire Department responded to the crash.
When they arrived on scene they found that the driver had already been transported from the scene by people in a private car. It is not certain what his injuries were.
The fire fighters managed to extinguish the blaze, which left the vehicle totally destroyed.
While EMS, where busy on the scene, they heard a commotion about 200m up the road. On investigation they discovered that a pedestrian had sadly been fatality hit by a vehicle.
The police are investigating both the incidents.
