Fatal crash in Boksburg as vehicle is pushed into oncoming traffic

MVA on Main Reef and Pretoria Witfield in Boksburg last night. According to witnesses, the BMW was pushed over the centre island by another vehicle that was next to it. The BMW crossed the island and collided head-on with a Toyota Auris. On arrival, one of our medics found that the driver of the BMW had tragically died on impact. The two children in the BMW had sustained critical injuries.

The driver and front passenger of the Toyota had sustained minor injuries, but the three year old in the car seat in the back was in cardiac arrest. The medic started ressusing the three year old. Advanced Life Support Paramedics were called to assist. Another service arrived and took over the resuscitation. The medic then started treating the two paediatric P1 patients. Multiple other services arrived as well as five ALS Paramedics from EMER-G-MED.

RV03 RSI`d one child on scene. All three patients from the Toyota were transported to Glynnwood Hospital, where the 3 year old was declared dead by doctors. The two paed P1s were transported to Tambo Memorial Hospital. EMER-G-MED transported one of them. The driver was declared by RV09. M02, A09 (with RV02 on board), RV09, RV01, RV03 and RV04 were all on scene. As well as other services.
