Kimberley police makes dagga arrests

On Friday 29/05 at about 06H00 members from Crime Intelligence, Kimberley Cluster Task Team, and Kimberley Crime Prevention arrested four male suspects (aged between 26 and 38) on the N8 Road in Kimberley.

Police received a tip-off about suspects that were transporting a large amount of dagga from outside the province. Police stopped and searched a white Toyota Corolla which had four occupants. Police discovered five bags of dagga that was stashed in the boot of the car. Police immediately arrested the four and seized five bags of dagga, weighing at about 43.45 kg. The estimated street value of the seized dagga is R217 000.

The four suspects are detained on a charge of possession of dagga and are expected to appear in the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court on Monday 01 June 2015.
