Nine patients have been injured in a crash involving a minibus on the KZN South Coast.
Just after midday, today, paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services together with Emergency Services on the KZN South Coast responded to a crash near Louisiana in the Port Shepstone area.
The patients were occupants of a minibus, which overturned along on the side of the road, next to a sugar cane field. Eight of the patients, several of whom had been ejected from the vehicle, had sustained serious injuries, while a young child, a boy, amazingly sustained only minor injuries.
The patients were treated at the scene by paramedics, before being transported to Port Shepstone hospital for continued medical care.
The police are investigating the cause of the crash.
