N2 North pedestrian crash leaves man critically injured

A man in his twenties is fighting for his life after a pedestrian accident on the N2 North near Queen Nandi Drive this morning at around 06h43. Reports from the scene indicate that the man tried to run across the highway with high volumes of traffic when a vehicle hit him.

Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the patient lying on the roadway with life threatening injuries. Paramedics worked tirelessly to stabilise the man at the scene, after he was placed on a ventilator and skilfully immobilised on a trauma board, they airlifted the man to the Nkosi Albert Luthuli hospital for the specialised care that he required.
