R 102 Nandi drive intersection collision leaves 5 injured

Five people were injured, one critically so, after a taxi and a car collided at the intersection of the R102 and Queen Nandi Drive this morning at around 07h25. A report from the scene indicates that an errant party skipped through the intersection resulting in one vehicle colliding into the side of the other one. Exact detail however will remain a subject for police investigation.

Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the intersection to be obstructed with accident debris and the twisted frames of the vehicles, some of the injured were still seated in the wreckage of the car, the taxi had only a driver and he was found at the side of the roadway.

After triaging the injured medics found that a female in her twenties had sustained critical injuries, two people were in a serious condition while two escaped with minor injuries. Paramedics worked fervently at the scene to stabilise the injured before transporting them to various hospitals for the care that they required.
