Masabalala Ngwenya Avenue had to be closed to traffic on the south bound carriage way after a light motor vehicle caught fire late Thursday night (2015/04/30).
Crisis Medical Paramedics and Ethekwini Fire and Rescue services were called to scene by passing motorists.
Swift action by our dedicated fire department saw the vehicle extinguished. The driver of the vehicle sustained no injuries and was assessed on scene for smoke inhalation.
It is suspected that an electrical fault may have caused the incident.
