Five injured in truck collision at intersection outside Carletonville

Five people were left injured this morning after a bakkie and truck collided at the R501 and R559 intersection, 8km outside of Carletonville.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene and found both the truck and bakkie parked on the side of the road. The front right of the bakkie had sustained a large amount of damage in the collision.

On assessment, paramedics found that 5 occupants that had been travelling in the back of the vehicle had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately no-one had sustained any injuries in the collision.

Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to Carletonville Hospital for further medical treatment.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
