Hammanskraal head-on crash leaves two critical

Two people are in a critical condition following an accident on the R101 towards Pyramid in Hammanskraal this morning.

Netcare 911 paramedics and provincial services arrived at the scene and found that two motor vehicles were involved in a head-on crash. Both vehicles sustained severe frontal damage and both male drivers were entrapped in the vehicles.

The Tshwane fire department had to make use of the Jaws of Life to extricate both drivers from the vehicles.

Upon assessment of the two men, paramedics found that both men were in a critical condition. Both injured men were treated at the scene and rushed to hospital for the urgent medical care that they required.

Traffic was severely affected as a result of the accident and clean-up operation afterwards.

Exact detail surrounding the cause of the crash and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
