A four- car pile-up on the N3 west bound before the Richmond Road off ramp has left one person dead and seven people injured. A report from the scene indicates that a vehicle traveling east veered across the centre median and collided head-on with oncoming traffic.
Netcare 911 paramedics the fire services and other services arrived at the scene and found the roadway obstructed with accident debris and the twisted frames of the four vehicles leaving only one lane open. After triaging the injured, it was found that one man had tragically died , one was critically injured, and one was in a serious condition while five escaped with minor injuries.
Paramedics treated the injured at the scene before transporting them to various hospitals for the care that they required.
