Six injured in multi vehicle collision in Meyerton

Three people sustained critical injuries and three sustained moderate injuries in a collision between six vehicles on the R59 in Meyerton.

When ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene they found that three trucks, a bakkie, car and SUV were involved in the collision.

Two men had to be extricated from their vehicles. Fire and Rescue services used the jaws of life and other rescue tools to extricate them.

These patients were assessed and found to have sustained critical injuries. They were treated and airlifted to hospital by the ER24 medical helicopter and ER24 DoH NW helicopter.

Another patient, a man, was assessed and found to have sustained critical injuries. He was also treated and airlifted to hospital.

Also on scene were three other patients who sustained moderate injuries.

They were treated and transported to hospital by ambulance for further medical care.
