Two men have been killed this afternoon (2015/06/09) after a collision on the N2 near the M25 Kwamashu offramp while another is fighting for his life.
Crisis Medical paramedics arrived on scene to find absolute mayhem as it’s believed that the three men jumped from the back of the bakkie they were traveling in to try and avoid a collision after a two trucks collided.
Unfortunately after jumping from the vehicle the truck could not avoid them and drove over them, killing two of them instantly. The third man is in a critical condition and advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilize him before he was transported to a nearby hospital for further care.
One of the trucks careened off the roadway and down an embankment, the driver and passenger sustained moderate injuries only and were taken to hospital for further assessment.
The driver of the bakkie was treated for symptoms of shock.
The roadway remained closed while emergency services worked and traffic was severely affected.
