A woman was injured following an accident on the near the Van Riebeeck offramp near Vereeniging.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found the crumpled remains of a vehicle that came to a standstill on the roadway. Reports from the scene indicate that the motor vehicle crashed against a heavy goods vehicle and then overturned several times.
The female occupants of the vehicle was entrapped in the vehicle and the fire department had to make use of specialised equipment to extricate the driver from the vehicle.
Upon assessment of the fifty-one-year-old woman, paramedics found the woman had sustained critical injuries during the rollover accident.
The injured patient was treated at the scene and rushed to hospital for the urgent medical care that she required.
