EMER-G-MED’s M01 saw a taxi accident happen right behind them on Katherine Drive in Sandton.
It is alleged that the taxi’s brakes failed, and to avoid colliding into the rear of M01 the taxi swerved off the road and collided with a pole.
Eight passengers were injured, with injuries ranging from minor to serious.
One patient sustained a possible fractured leg and required Advanced Life Support care.
EMER-G-MED’s ICU ambulance with on-board ALS Paramedic transported the seriously injured patient to a nearby trauma centre.
The seven other patients fortunately only sustained minor injuries and were transported to a nearby clinic for further care.
