Dagga dealers fire shots at police and try to run them off the road

Today at 05:30 members attached to Uitenhage K9 Unit, Warrant Officer Adlem, Sergeant Potgieter and Constable Baatjies attempted to stop a vehicle suspected for transporting dagga, on the N10 near Patterson. A high speed chase ensued.

The suspects fired shots at the police vehicle and attempted to run the police vehicle off the road. Assistance was given by members of Flying Squad, and the suspects’ vehicle was pulled over.

Two suspects aged 32 years and 35 years were arrested. Nineteen (19) bags of Dagga weighing 352 kilograms with a street value of R350 000 were seized. The suspects are charged with Attempted Murder/ Dealing in Dagga/ Defeating the ends of Justice.

Duo detained at SAPS Paterson and will appear in court on 2015-07-20. The Vehicle, Dagga, cell phones and cash to the value of R100 were seized.
