Drugs seized and stolen firearm recovered in house search

A 25-year-old man will appear in the Galeshewe Magistrate Court today on a charge of dealing in drugs and possession of an unlicensed firearm.

It is alleged that on Monday, 20 July 2015, police received information of possible drug activities at a house in Rabaji Street. Crime Prevention members and the K9 Unit searched the house and removed 713 mandrax tablets.

The suspect was also found in possession of a 9mm pistol. Investigation revealed that the firearm was stolen in Greenwood Park in 2006.

The estimated street value of the drugs is R32 000.
