Pedestrian vehicle crash on the R64 about 10km outside Bloemfontein

Emergency services were called to the scene of a pedestrian vehicle accident on the R64 about 10km outside Bloemfontein late yesterday evening.

On arrival it was found that the pedestrian sadly passed away due to the severity of his injuries prior to the arrival of Paramedics. About two hours later, services were called back to the same location for reports of a secondary accident.

On arrival it was found that a light motor vehicle collided with the Government Mortuary vehicle that was at the first scene collecting the body of the deceased.

The two occupants of the vehicle sustained serious injuries and were transported to Bloemfontein Medi-Clinic for further care after they were stabilised on scene by paramedics.

Luckily none of the officials on the scene were injured in the secondary accident.
