M01, M07, RV06 and A01 responded to a head-on collision between two bakkies on the corners of Barry Hertzhog and Troon in Emmerentia.
M01 arrived first on scene finding a total of seven patients, three of which were in a critical condition and entrapped within the wreckage.
Crews were assisted by the City Of Johannesburg Fire Department to extricate the patients from the vehicles.
Once extricated the patients were further stabilised and transported to various trauma centres by various services.
A01 with RV06 on-board transported two of the patients, one of which required Advanced Life Support interventions, to a near-by facility for further management.
The cause of the accident is still unknown, and JMPD was on the scene to investigate further.
