Two people were injured, one critically so, after a taxi veered off the roadway while driving along Shakashead link road and struck a forty –year-old pedestrian that was walking at the side roadway. Exact detail to the cause of the taxi veering off the road is still speculative and will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian to have sustained life-threatening injuries while the taxi driver escaped with minor injuries. After medics stabilised the injured at the scene they transported them to a local hospital for the care that they required.
