An accident on the R61 near the Uvongo off ramp has left three people injured, one critically so. A report from the scene indicate that two vehicles and a pedestrian was involved in the accident, exact detail to the cause of the accident however is still speculative and will remain a subject for police comment.
Netcare 911 paramedics the provincial services and emergency services arrived at the scene and found the roadway littered with accident debris and the twisted frames of the vehicles. One vehicle overturned on impact and came to rest on its roof.
After triaging the injured, it was found that the pedestrian had sustained critical injuries, two people from the vehicles were injured one seriously and one with minor injuries, miraculously two people escaped with no injuries.
After the injured were treated at the scene by medics, they transported them to various hospitals for the care that they required.
