25 Injured in two taxi collision in Isipingo

25 people were injured this evening when two taxis collided head-on on the Old Main Road in Isipingo, KwaZulu Natal.

ER24 paramedics, along with fire services, responded to the scene, and on their arrival, found the two taxis lying in the middle of the road. The one taxi had sustained a large amount of damage to the front while sliding door of the second taxi had been completely bend open.

On assessment of the scene, paramedics found that 25 occupants from the taxis had sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious.

Paramedics immediately set up a triage area and began treating the patients for their injuries. Some of the patients also required advanced life support interventions.

Once treated, the patients were transported to various facilities in the area for urgent medical treatment.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
