Crisis Medical paramedics were called to riverside road in Durban North this morning as bystanders alleged to have found a body in a rubbish bag.
On further assessment it was discovered that the body of a new born baby had been wrapped in a rubbish bag and abandoned in the bushes, with the umbilical cord still intact.
Unfortunately the baby had no signs of life and was declared dead on arrival.
The scene was handed over to the South African Police Services and an investigation is under way.
