Biker and cyclist killed in collision on the Tokai on-ramp

Two men were killed this morning after a motorbiker and cyclist collided on the Tokai on-ramp off the M3 in Cape Town.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene and found the two male patients lying on the grass embankment next to the road.

On assessment, paramedics found that the male cyclist had already succumbed to his multiple fatal injuries. Nothing more could be done for the patient and he was later declared dead on scene.

The body of the male biker was found a few metres away with no signs of life. Metro services had already began CPR and advanced life support interventions. ER24 paramedics assisted in the 20 minutes operation to revive the patient.

Unfortunately, after twenty minutes, no vital signs returned and the man was declared dead.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
