Driver critically injured in Glenwood crash

A 23 year old has been left critically injured after the vehicle he was driving lost control and collided with a tree on Grosvenor Road in Glenwood around 9am this morning.

Rescue Care paramedics were called by Glenmore Community watch members to the serious collision. On arrival paramedics found a 23 year old male entrapped under the vehicle having sustained critical injuries. Rescue Care’s Advanced Life Support paramedic was called to assist and placed the man on a manual ventilator on the scene. Durban Fire Department arrived and assisted the paramedics by freeing the patient. Once the patient had been stabilized on the scene he was rushed to Chief Albert Nkosi Luthuli Hospital for the further care that he required.

At this stage it is unclear what caused the single vehicle to lose control and collide with the tree however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
