Drug operation yields results in Chatsworth

On 14 August 2015, an intelligence driven operation was held in the Chatsworth policing precinct. The Chatsworth police and Cluster Task Team held observations at various drug dens in Chatsworth and arrested a 24-year-old suspect at Montford, Chatsworth.

The police seized approximately 2 832 straws, suspected to be Heroin, and 70 pieces of Mandrax.

On the same day, the officials proceeded to Westcliffe where they arrested two males, Luke Darsen (23) and Rasool Fahim (26) for dealing in drugs at Silver Heights Road, Westcliffe. Police seized approximately 1 000 straws suspected to be Heroin.

The estimated street value of all the drugs seized is R75 000, 00 and they will be forwarded for forensic analysis.

On 17 August 2015, all of the three accused appeared before the Chatsworth Magistrate’s Court and were released on R 10 000, 00 each.
