KZN EMS paramedcis attend to multiple crashes

Paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services have had an extremely busy night and have responded to multiple crashes across the province of KZN.

Details of some of the crashes are as follows:

On the R56 passed the Eston turn off, a crash involving truck and LDV , left three people injured, two of the patients were in a critical condition and the one patient had to be extricated by the fire department.
In Edendale on the Edendale road a pedestrian sadly sustained fatal injuries after being hit by a vehicle
On the old Wartburg road, a collision between two cars, resulted in three people sustaining injuries.
A collision on the Edendale road involving two cars, left two people with minor injuries, who did not want to be taken to hospital, after being examined by paramedics.
A crash at the R56 and New port road intersection involving two cars. Fortunately no one was injured but the road was left obstructed.
On the N3 south bound at Tweedie off ramp a crash involving a minibus left 12 people with minor injuries. The patients were treated by paramedics from several ambulance services.
On the Bishopstown road, there was a crash involving a single vehicle. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
On the N3 south bound at Peter Brown off ramp, a light motor vehicle overturned, leaving several patients injured.
At Cragieburn on the KZN south coast, a crash involving two cars sadly resulted in two fatalities. Two other critically injured patients were treated at the scene and transported to hospital. One of these patients had to be freed from the crushed vehicle using the jaws of life.
In Umzinyathi district, a crash involving  a car which overturned in the Forestdale area near Dundee, left four patients injured.
In the Harry Gwala district on the Creighton Road, a crash at about 20h17, involving a LMV & Bakkie, left two people with serious injures and seven patients were treated for minor injuries.
In the Umkhanyakude district, north of the province, in the Manguzi Skhemelele Area, a crash at about 18h40, between a car and a bakkie, sadly resulted in one fatality and five other patients were treated by KZN EMS paramedics. Two of the patients were in a critical condition
A crash involving two cars near Escourt at Wembesi Town resulted in 2 Fatalities, six patients were treated at the scene.

 

The exact causes of these crashes is not known and will be investigated by the police.
