A man was injured during a rollover accident on the N3 near the R617 in Merrivale in the early morning hours.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that a motor vehicle had overturned several times.
Upon assessment of the occupants of the vehicle, paramedics found that a man, believed to be in his thirties, were seriously injured and entrapped in the wreckage.
Once removed from the vehicle, the injured man was treated at the scene and transported to hospital for the medical care that he required.
Reports from the scene indicate that the motor vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle, resulting in the motor vehicle overturning. However, exact detail surrounding the cause of the rollover accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
