Two people tragically died and another was seriously injured after a car collided with a truck on the M4 near the Sibaya off ramp. A report from the scene indicates that the truck was stationary in the road when the vehicle collided into it.
Netcare 911 paramedics and their rescue vehicle arrived at the scene and found the crumpled remains of the car wedged under the truck with the occupants still trapped in the twisted frame. After triaging the injured, it was found that two people tragically died due to the extensive injuries that they sustained, one person sustained serious injuries.
The rescue officer used the Jaws of Life to free the injured while medics worked tirelessly to stabilise the patient. After medics treated the seriously wounded man at the scene, they transported him to a local hospital for the care that he required.
