Man rescued from down a cliff in the Montebello area

A man believes to be in his 40s is being rescued after falling down a cliff at Nsuze, in the Montebello area of the ILembe health district of KZN.

KZN Emergency Medical Service paramedics and officers from the SAPS Search and Rescue Unit and a private ambulance service, have responded to assist the man earlier this morning. This was after community members had raised the alarm when they discovered the man on a wet ledge, having fallen 20-30m from the top of the cliff. The man reportedly fell down the cliff last night and was reported missing this morning.

Rescuers set up a rope rescue system and abseiled down to the man. At the moment rescuers are in the process of  hauling the man to the top of the cliff, using the rope system and a specialised rescue stretcher.
