Five people were injured, three seriously so after two vehicles collided on the R61 in Margate at around 21h32. Exact detail to the cause of the accident is still speculative and will remain a subject for police investigation.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that one vehicle had burst into flames after impact, the patients fortunately managed to escape. After triaging it was found that three people had sustained serious injuries while two miraculously escaped with minor injuries. After medics stabilised the injured at the scene they transported them to various hospitals for the care that they required.
